New rules on using older versions of the CEEQUAL
Manual
26 October 2009
At the CEEQUAL Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meeting
in September, the decision was made to change the rules
governing the period during which projects can still
be verified to an older version of the CEEQUAL Manual,
once a new version has been released.
Until now, projects in progress were required to upgrade
to the latest version of the Manual if their construction
period ended more than three years after a new version
was introduced. This rule has been rescinded. Projects
can now continue to be assessed on the version current
at the time they applied, irrespective of the project’s
end date – unless the project team expressly requests
to upgrade, which of course they are very welcome to
do.
New applications wishing to use an older version of
the Manual will now only be accepted for a 6-month period
after a new version has been launched. After this period,
requests for an assessment under the old version will
be designated a “Retrospective Award”, and
this will be clearly stated on the Award certificate.
For the current Manual this means that, after a grace
period until the end of 2009, any new assessment applications
where the project team still wishes to use Manual Version
3.1 will now also be classed as Retrospective Awards.
If you are a CEEQUAL Assessor trained on Version 3.1
of the Manual and would like to attend an online Upgrade
seminar, please check
the forthcoming training courses or contact
Melanie
Manton to find out about the next opportunity
to do so.
